5V5 TOURNAMENT RULES & regulations

  • ONE-DAY TOURNAMENTS: 2 Game minimum.
  • TWO-DAY TOURNAMENTS: 3 Game minimum.
  • THREE-DAY TOURNAMENTS: 4 Game minimum.
  • 2 professional referees per game.
  • 1 trained score keeper per game.
  • Game Length: Two 16-minute halves  with running clock. Last 2-minutes of second half stop clock.
  • If a 25 point lead is attained, a full court press is not allowed by the leading team. If the lead becomes under 15 points, then a full court press will be reinstated.
  • If a 30 point lead is attained, the leading team must play defense within the 3-point arc.
  • Mercy Rule: if there is a 20 point lead going into the last 2 minutes of the 2nd half, then the clock will run.
  • 3rd through 6th grade Boys (and all Girls) use 28.5 ball. 7th & 8th grade Boys use 29.5 ball.
  • Games shall not start early unless mutually agreed upon.
  • 5-minutes warmups before each game.
  • 3-minute half time break (if time allows).
  • Standings: In case of a tie breaker we will use: (1st: winning percentage), (2nd: head to head competition),(3rd: point differential), (4th: points allowed) & (5th points scored).
  • Timeouts: 1 per half. 1 in overtime (if applicable).
  • Overtime period will be a 2-minute stop clock, second overtime (if applicable) sudden death (first to score).
  • Player disqualification on 5th personal foul.
  • 2 technical fouls any player or coach will result in ejection from game.
  • 2 ejections in the tournament will result in removal from the tournament.
  • 7 teams fouls result in 1 and 1 free throws and 10 team fouls will result in 2 free throws.
  • Home Team to wear light colored jerseys.
  • First Team listed on the schedule is the HOME team.
  • All Team uniforms to have player numbers on front and back of jerseys.
  • Home Team to provide game ball.
  • A maximum of 2 Coaches on bench.
  • Individual championship medals for division winners (some tournaments will have individual MVP awards per division).

  • ONE DAY 3V3 TOURNAMENTS: 3 Game minimum.
  • 1 professional referees per game.
  • 1 trained score keeper per game.
  • 3v3 Game Length: First team to 21 points or 15 minutes elapses (must win by 1+ points).
  • Home team will have the ball first.
  • Teams can score within the three point arc and will count as 1-point or outside the three point arc and will count as 2 points.
  • After a basket has been scored or a foul called, a player must put the ball in play from the beyond the 3-point arc.
  • All jump balls will put into play behind the 3-point arc with possession given alternately to each team.
  • On defensive rebounds or steals, players must return the ball by dribble or pass across the 3-point arc before a basket can be attempted. 
  • After a basket, the team scored upon will put the ball in play.
  • Fouls will be called by the referee. A foul called in the act of shooting will result in either one or two points being awarded to the team which was fouled, depending on where the player was fouled and a change of possession. A non-shooting foul will result in the award of one point to the offended team.
  • 3-second rule (3 in the key) will be apply to all offensive players.
  • Substitutions will be allowed after basket is made or an out of bounds play.
  • Each team is allowed one 30-second time out per game.
  • If game ends in a tie after regulation time there will be a  1-minute overtime period. Possession will be determined by the home team shooting the ball.
  • If after overtime period the game is still tied, successive overtime periods will occur until a winner is determined.
  • 3rd through 6th grade Boys (and all Girls) use 28.5 ball. 7th & 8th grade Boys use 29.5 ball.
  • Games shall not start early unless mutually agreed upon.

  • 7U Boys: 1st Grade "Open Division"

  • 10U Boys: 4th Grade "D1" & "D2"
  • 11U Boys: 5th Grade "D1" & "D2"
  • 12U Boys: 6th Grade "D1" & "D2"

AGE RESTRICTIONS


AAU youth age restrictions are as follows: "an athlete cannot be older than "X" on or before August 31, 202 "X" for that particular division i.e., To play, an athlete must be in 2nd grade as of October 1, 2022, and can be not older than 9 on or before August 31, 2023. An athlete in the 3rd grade who wants to play in the 2nd division as of October 1, 2022, can be no older than 8 on or before August 31, 2023.



TAG SPORTS CLUB LLC LIABILITY WAIVER & DISCLOSURE


Participating parties shall be legally bound, their heirs , parents, players and administrators hereby waive and release any and all claims and rights that I may have against TAG SPORTS CLUB LLC, their tournament director, officials, scorekeepers, site directors or school facilities, for any accident or incident that may occur to any member of the team, coaching staff and family thereof, during an TAG SPORTS CLUB LLC event participated in. I also understand that I am responsible for the Tournament Entry Fees. I also agree to allow TAG SPORTS CLUB LLC to use mine or my players / child's photo in their advertisement.

DIVISIONS & disclosures

  • $450.00 per team for "College Showcase" tournaments.
  • $275.00 - $350.00 per team for 2 day tournaments.
  • $175.00 - 225.00 per team for 1 day tournaments.
  • $15.00 general admission, $25.00 for weekend admission pass and $5.00 for children under 12.
  • $10.00 parking fee (only at certain venues).

  • BallerTV telecasting at selected games (if available).
  • 2 food trucks per day at selected games.
